A mighty upgrade to a classic fitness tool. Meet the new resistance band

Mighty bands resistance tubesI like to throw around some pretty heavy weight during my workouts and a couple of good ‘heavy’ workouts each week keeps me lean and strong. But I choose not to be a slave to the gym during the gorgeous days of summer when outdoor workouts are as good for the soul as they are for the body, plus my puppy can come along too!

That’s where resistance bands come in handy and thanks to Mighty Bands my ‘sunshine workouts’ just got a whole lot more versatile.

I often use the traditional resistance tube for my outdoor workouts.  You know, the classic rubber tube with a handle on each end. A band stuffs nicely into my mini backpack, or occasionally  I’ll wrap one around my waist when I go for a run. Then I  can stop and anchor at random trees, park benches and playgrounds for a strength interval of single arm rows, woodchops, tricep extensions and the like.

Mighty Bands are classic resistance bands that are just a little bit different, but offer a whole lot more functionality. Somebody at Mighty Bands was thinking clearly when they put a caribiner clip on the end of a resistance band.  A carabiner or karabiner is a metal loop with a sprung or screwed gate. They are designed for security, safety and efficiency. This means you can pop on a handle or a multitude of attachments in a flash and quadruple the types of exercises you can do with a single band.

The mighty bands set comes with:

5 resistance bands/tubes (Black, red, green, blue, yellow)

2 handles

Door stopper to anchor bands in a doorway

2 ankle straps

Nylon Zippered carrying pouch with a small strap

What I like about the Mighty Bands set:

-For outdoor workouts and travel, I can take 5 different bands with significantly less bulk. 2 handles versus the bulk of 10 required if I brought 5 bands. The whole set fits in my gym bag and hardly takes up any room

-Double or triple the bands on the same handle for extra resistance

-Use the ankle strap to anchor the tube so you don’t have to stand on the tube which causes wear & tear.

-Comfy foam rolling handles for better grip strength

I recommend that you still make the time to hit the gym a couple times a week and lift some iron,  but mighty bands are an awesome in-between or travel solution and are great for posture fine-tuning exercises.

I am not about to fill my backpack with a pair of 25lb dumbells to enjoy an awesome workout in a sunny park with my puppy. Thanks to my Mighty Bands I can sweat it up under the sun and get a decent strength workout too!
